How to Make Money Online

People ask me all the time to tell them how to make money online. It amazes me sometimes how many people are interested in it, yet how few really know how to make money online.

Once you've learned the ropes, you will discover that you can make easy money online. But it doesn't come so easily to everybody, and that's what we're here to discuss.

The key to easily making money online is to have your own product or service. Many people have discovered, though, that a website can be a product and that if you provide quality free content that will keep readers coming back to your site, and then monetize your site with various advertising methods, you can make easy money online. While there is no surefire way to make fast money online, you can certainly make an excellent income with a little research and patience.

Perhaps the single most important thing to do, in the beginning, is to pick a profitable "niche". What do I mean by that? Do some research, and find out what people are searching for, but more importantly, what they are searching for that isn't out there in large quantities. It's the age old law of supply and demand. You want decent demand outstripping limited supply.

Eventually, you'll want to get a subscription to a good keyword research service like Wordtracker or Keyword Discovery, but in the beginning, you can use quite a few free tools to get your first sites up and running. For a great free keyword research service, try Nichebot.

Having identified some good keywords or keyphrases that have a fair amount of search traffic, but moderate competition, you can then build some pages around them. Personally, I prefer to build content sites on a blog platform, simply because it is easier, but also because a properly optimized blog can be search engine bait.

Once you have some content on your site, it's time to apply for an account at Google Adsense or through the Yahoo Publisher Network. You will probably also want to become an affiliate at ClickBank, and also at Amazon, since both provide a wealth of top-selling books and digital products that you can promote on your site.

Finally, don't forget that the old truism is still true the money is in your list. You need to have a subscription form of some sort on your site, so you can capture names and email addresses of your visitors, and send them follow-up offers related to the theme of your site. Many of those people may never visit your site again, yet will buy products you offer through your email newsletter. And once they've bought from you, selling to them again and again gets even easier.
